On Entrepreneurship

I was reading an article on Harvard Business Review “Don’t Let Age Get in the Way of Entrepreneurship” and only after I got into it did I realize it was talking about young people being encouraged to pursue entrepreneurship not really old people (like me). But you know the article was good and applicable either way. Ironically I’ve always considered myself and entrepreneur at heart but could never motivate myself to make the jump and now I think I understand why.

I now believe that entrepreneurship is not about money but more likely to be about passion. The passion could be a passion for money, a passion to work for yourself or a cause you’re passionate about. So my passions, in addition to all art forms, include creating things through the marvels of technology and service to others. For the last 10 years of my high tech career I questioned why I was working. I now realize it was the passion to create, the technology and helping others succeed.

Who was I helping succeed? It was the great people I worked with and now its the artists in this community. So I hope artist’s will post images of the art they produce, challenge me to create technology and my own forms of art and ultimately help them succeed. That’s why I’m here and that’s why loco-art.com exists.

So it took me a long time but now I consider myself an entrepreneur and it has nothing to do with money for me. I never saw it coming but it all makes sense now. The artist’s on this site are also entrepreneurs some for profit but I think all for the passion of creating art. Please help them, visit the venue’s and their websites, buy art and encourage them. Thank you.
