The Bank Street Business Improvement Area (BIA) promotes art and murals in its area but they have really taken this to the next level with the Beyond the Art initiative. Leveraging the Engage Art App by EXAR Studios (more on this later) the BIA has collaborated with EXAR Studios to provide an interactive map of the attractions, an audio guided tour and details information on each mural and artist on the tour. Here are some screen shots of the application.
But wait there is more! Some of the events have augmented reality. I’m going to reach out to the Engage Art people to learn more about the application and how I can leverage it to the benefit of loco-art.com members.
I don’t want to take any credit for efforts of the Bank Street BIA, content providers or the EXAR Studios so I’m not going to go into detail on the artwork. I encourage others to to explore the Beyond the Art initiative on their own. In the mean time I’ll invite each artist to provide a gallery, contact information and biography so we can work together to promote each others work. I hope you’ll take my advice and check out this awesome tour.
